Hi everyone,

How are you? I hope that you and your loved ones are keeping well and positive!

For those who have had time to study, here are the answers to the activities from last week:

Student’s book page 141 Modal verbs.

Activity 8:

  1. I may or might borrow that DVD from Jo (both are correct)
  2. You must remember to wear…..
  3. I can’t go out next Friday….
  4. We had to use the back door….
  5. The singer has to fly home early….
  6. The theatre might or may have more information….(both are correct)
  7. I can play the drums.

Next, we’ll go back to pages 50 and 51 in the Student’s book.

Starting with activity 3. 

Here are the verbs which should be underlined:

  1. CAN
  2. MAY
  3. MUST
  4. HAD TO
  5. COULD
  6. HAVE TO
  7. MIGHT

Activity 4, matching definitions to verbs:

  1. Obligation in the present:  have to and must.
  2. Obligation in the past: had to.
  3. Possibility: may and might.
  4. Ability in the present: can.
  5. Ability in the past: could.

HOMEWORK:

Use the reading activity number 8 on page 51 of the student’s book to write a review about a film. Please use the key speaking vocabulary on page 50 and the modal verbs we have studied. Send it to me on a word document at: sumaddonline2@gmail.com.
